Leigh-Anne Kaiser - Lead Instructor & Founder
Certified Paddle Canada Instructor & PaddleFit Coach
BCPRA Registered Fitness Leader
Inspired by a stroller fitness class with her first daughter, Leigh-Anne decided to find a new way to stay in shape (after 20 years of competitive dancing), that would get her outdoors and allow her to get a work-out with her children. SUP was a natural choice given the lakes, ocean and rivers in her backyard in Squamish, BC.
Transitioning careers from an Accounting and Audit background and having some Scuba Diving history, Leigh-Anne had a clear goal in mind when setting up FitSUP, do it right the first time - and to achieve this she took up training with both Paddle Canada and PaddleFit to get a varied perspective and access to some of the best Instructor Resources available for SUP.
To expand on the PaddleFit fitness and build a more in depth knowledge of movement and anatomy Leigh-Anne started pursuing her BCPRA Personal trainer certification.
Philip Kaiser - River Instructor
Certified Paddle Canada Flatwater, River and Touring Instructor
Swiftwater Rescue Technician
Starting with waterskiing at 5, Philip has tried most watersports in some form or other. From his time in Cape Town working as a skipper on a dive charter boat and dive instructor to his dabbling in kiteboarding and volunteering as a cleanup diver with Divers for Cleaner Lakes and Oceans, Philip spends most of his free time doing something water related.
With a young family in Squamish, Philip joined Leigh-Anne in SUP to have something the family could do together. Wanting to further build the SUP community and paddling community in Squamish generally, Philip volunteered with the Squamish Paddling Club.
To build on the foundation the Paddling Club had established in whitewater kayaking, Philip became a River SUP instructor and now teaches River SUP both for FitSUP and as a FitSUP collaboration with the Squamish Paddling Club.
